Hear what some of our friends have to say about us

While on a cruise from Brisbane we spent a very enjoyable and relaxing morning at the hot pools, we enjoyed both the public and private pools. We did prefer the outdoor pools better as they provided opportunities to engage in conversations with the local people where we learnt a lot about the area. The ticked were vert easy to book online, customer service on the day was amazing being very friendly and helpful. The pools were only a short walk along the foreshore from the cruise terminal. We had a very relaxing experience at the pools and have recommended to other cruisers and look forward to visiting again

How can place be both Relaxing and Invigorating? To answer this question – visit the Salt Water Hot Pools at Mt Maunganui. They are clean, attractive and low key Kiwiana. There are three pools for youths and adults and one pool for children. You start in the warm swimming pool, move to the larger kidney shaped hot pool. Sit here and contemplate in the blue pool, before moving on one of the two small hotter pools. I can only take about 10 mins in one of these. But it is here the tension in joints is relaxed. A most joyful experience – and because the place is local authority run – all safety processes and provisions are observed. I always come home in high spirits, have a good visit! Anoynmous

After being away from the area for too many years it was so cool to return to the hot baths and just soak. The new renovations are crisp and clean and the general amenity is of world class standard. Staff were friendly, attentive and even helped us with a photo. Hoping to make it a regular event and will definitely be taking our international friends there to experience the hot baths at the Mount. Cheers to the staff. See you all again soon. Keith P

You Have to Go! Best surprise you will get in the Mount. Great pools that refresh and relax at the same time. Reasonably cheap and very user orientated. The whole family can enjoy a few hours there or a couple can share a private pool away from the crowd. Awesome! Justin K

Perfect place for all ages.

Have been to the pools several times over the last 6 months and it’s a great place for all ages. Great place to meet for friends and family groups. Clean facilities and very friendly and helpful staff. Kiwi1951

A must do!

We hired a private pool which gives you 40minutes, half an hour of pool time. The room was very clean and spacious and tastefully decorated. All pools were the same temperature so you don’t get to choose the level of heat like you can at some places but we didn’t see this as a negative. The main pool had some kind of water fitness class going on so if you’re wanting peace privacy there’s always the private pools, which are also very reasonably priced and great if you forgot to pack your togs. Six weeks ago my husband had both knees replaced in an amazing operation which; not only removed joints which were damaged in his 20-30’s and arthritis which had developed around the areas, but in doing so also corrected his previously bowed leg stance.

For the first few weeks he endured incredible pain and heavy drug use but after just over three week’s rehabilitation, with healed wounds felt able to submerge his legs into water. He arrived at Mount Hot Pools on crutches in a great deal of discomfort, having suffered the car ride to the pools, and rather dubiously climbed into the warm salty water.

What a relief and joy. He was able to move around freely for the first time in weeks and in that warmth and weightless environment was eventually able to bend and stretch his legs easily. Since then he has been to the pools most days to exercise, and relax. The muscle and joint inflammation has lessened quickly, his mobility has improved daily to the point that now only six weeks since the operation he can bend his knees to bring both feet to about eight inches from his butt. He also finds it easier to walk and cycle over one kilometre daily. More relaxed he sleeps better and requires very little medication now.

We both feel that the benefits of the combined weightless exercise and deep relaxation provided by the regular swims in the Mount Hot Pools has significantly improved his attitude, health and well- being.

We are very grateful to have use of this wonderful facility. We appreciate too that parking is close and free, access is easy, and surfaces are safe. We would like to acknowledge the team who tend the visitors and ensure that the lovely facility remains attractive, clean and fresh.
Many thanks, Lorraine Norris & Kelvin Carter

This is without doubt my favorite place in Tauranga. It’s my place to relax and to gather my thought. I find it rather therapeutic sitting in the hot water and letting my thought go. The water quality at the hot saltwater pools is excellent. The grounds are kept nice and clean, and lifeguards are always visable. I highly recommend a visit to these hot water pools.
